Easy Ink Blended Backgrounds

Hi, and welcome! Today is my first post for Imagine Crafts and I'm pretty excited about this one. I had one foot in the box and one out with this project and loved every minute of it! I’m sharing how to use stencils along with a few inks to create gorgeous backgrounds wrapped in Vellum and heat embossed with inspirational quotes. I’ve used the background in two ways: to create a handmade card and framed for home decor. I have a quick video over on the Imagine Crafts YouTube Channel. I hope you'll hop over there and check it out!

The great thing about this is you can use any stencil you have on hand and Imagine Crafts has so many beautiful inks you shouldn't have any problems finding something to match your needs.

HOW TO

I started with one of my favorite stencils the Whimsy Stamps Farmhouse Greenery Stencil, secured it over a piece of white cardstock with washi tape.

I picked two gorgeous shades of green from the Versamagic Inks; Hint of Pesto and Tea Leaves along with metallic pigment ink for a little bit of shimmer, Delicata Golden Glitz Ink to get started.

Ink blenders lay the VersaMagic Inks down like butter, they are so smooth and creamy.

Randomly apply the Hint of Pesto and Tea Leaves

Fill in empty areas with the Delicata Golden Glitz Ink set the stenciled panels aside to dry

Stamp or hand-letter your favorite inspirational sentiment onto a piece of vellum

Apply a generous amount of anti-static powder and then stamp the sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink

Cover with MBoss Clear Embossing Powder, tap off excess

Heat set

Trim one stenciled panel down for a card, size is a personal preference

Adhere to a square cardbase with coordinating cardstock mat

Wrap the vellum around the stenciled panels and add to cardbase

and frame one

Pretty simple, right? I can see myself making a lot of pretty pictures for the holidays for my home using this super simple technique.
